The Magical Unfolding

Bride & Groom : Pooja and Sanket

This is how the magical story unleashed in their love life:

Sanket and Pooja studied in the same school but never spoke to one another while in school and did not even have common friends back then. But Sanket apparently had a huge crush on Pooja which she had no idea about. After a couple of years, as they were destined to meet, they again crossed their paths while pursuing B.E. from different colleges, through some common school friends. Finally, at some point they started feeling for each other and began dating in September 2010, spending a beautiful couple of years together in getting to know each other better, going on dates, the usual.

Having been committed to their careers, she went to Germany to pursue her Master’s, and he stayed in India. Like we know, love is not always rainbows and butterflies, they too did go through a couple of rough patches while being in a long-distance for a year.

Their life took a major twist, he too went to The Netherlands for his master the next year and they resolved their differences and were back together, stronger and full of love. In September 2019 he proposed Pooja at sunset in Santorini creating a magical moment.

It’s time to listen to their tiring yet fun wedding prep:

Due to the Pandemic, they postponed their wedding in India to Dec 2021. It was not easy, planning everything for India while living in Germany. It was difficult to coordinate with the vendors, they could not have done it without the support of our families. There were a lot of back and forth video calls, while the families were shopping in India, deciding for color coordination, and trying to make out how everything looks just by video calling. Trying to envision how it would all come together for the wedding day. Arriving 3 weeks before the wedding, they then shopped everything from sarees, pre-wedding outfits to jewelry, shoes. They had dreamed of wearing traditional outfits for the wedding day to honor the cultures they came from.

Pooja’s father being Maharashtrian and Mom a Kannadiga, she wore Nauvari saree for the wedding rituals and a Kanjeevaram saree with traditional gold jewelry for the rituals, and a little fancy imitation choker set for the reception that you can see in her flawless pictures.  It was a beautiful albeit slightly hectic day. As in most cases, they did not even realize how quickly the day went by, taking vows in front of the family, surrounded by the people they love, getting blessings from everyone, and admiring each other, the day was gone. Even though it was all done too quickly, like them, we will cherish the memories forever.
